Local Outreach

Rooted in the Neighbourhood

Our congregation's relationship with the Langley community extends far beyond the walls of our Kingdom Hall. Members of the Walnut Grove Congregation are neighbours, coworkers, classmates, and friends throughout the Fraser Valley — living out their faith in daily, practical ways.

We believe that genuine community engagement begins with individual integrity and compassion. Each member of our congregation strives to be a person their neighbours can trust — reliable, honest, and ready to help when help is needed.

  • Door-to-door outreach throughout Walnut Grove and Langley
  • Public witnessing carts at community locations
  • Free Bible literature distribution in multiple languages
  • Personal assistance for elderly or housebound community members
  • Community presence at local events and gatherings

Humanitarian Work

Disaster Relief & Humanitarian Aid

Jehovah's Witnesses operate one of the most effective and rapid disaster relief networks in the world. When a community is struck by fire, flood, earthquake, or another crisis, volunteers mobilize within days — often before government aid arrives — to provide practical assistance to those in need.

This work is entirely volunteer-driven and funded internally. No government grants or external funding are required. Members of our local congregation have participated in disaster relief efforts in British Columbia and beyond, demonstrating what organized, faithful community looks like in practice.

  • Rapid-response volunteer networks globally and locally
  • Home rebuilding, cleanup, and restoration assistance
  • Emotional and spiritual support for disaster survivors
  • Participation in provincial and national relief efforts
  • All relief work provided free of any charge or obligation

Everyday

Being Good Neighbours

Community impact doesn't always look like a formal program. Often it looks like small, consistent acts of kindness.

Caring for the Elderly

Congregation members regularly check in on elderly neighbours, offering assistance with errands, home maintenance, or simply providing companionship and conversation for those who are isolated.

Supporting New Arrivals

Langley is home to many newcomers to Canada. Our congregation — with multilingual members and a warm, inclusive culture — provides a place of belonging for those still finding their footing in a new country.

Encouraging Young Families

Parents raising children in today's environment face real pressures. Our congregation actively supports young families with practical resources, community, and the wisdom of more experienced congregation members who are glad to help.
